Fencing

• the ability for a failing node in the cluster, to be “fenced off” and removed from the cluster

• This usually happens when a node misses too many heartbeats.

• Dracs and ILOs allow a remote system to be powered off then powered on, thus cycling the server to get a clean reboot.
